1. Who can ask for removal

The Florida Business Database is compiled from public records (see the Data Notice). You can send a removal request; we will put your details on a suppression list so that they are not included in the database or in future updates.

Because the operator is established in the European Union, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. Any individual may object to the processing of their data (Article 21 GDPR) and ask for erasure (Article 17 GDPR), wherever they live. That includes you if you are:

  • a sole proprietor, freelancer or licensed professional,
  • an officer, director, manager, member or registered agent named in a business filing,
  • a contact person whose name or personal business contact detail appears in a record.

Where the processing serves direct marketing, you do not have to give a reason. With the same form you can also ask what we hold about you (Article 15 GDPR) or ask us to correct it (Article 16 GDPR); say so in the message.

Requests that concern only a company and no individual (for example a corporation's general phone number) are not covered by GDPR. [[ TO COMPLETE: decide and state the policy for company-only requests, e.g. "we honor them as well" ]]

Two things this request cannot do. First, it does not change the public record: filings with the Florida Division of Corporations and state license records stay public under Florida law, and only the agency that keeps a record can change it. Second, our customers are responsible for their own outreach. A request to us covers our database; to stop a particular business from contacting you, tell that business as well. If you know that it obtained your details from us, name it in the message.

2. What we need from you

So that we find the right record and do not change another person's details by mistake, we need:

  1. the company or name under which you are listed and, if you have it, the Florida document number or other registration or license number;
  2. the details to remove – address, phone numbers, email addresses, website, or a person's name;
  3. an email address for our reply.

We do not ask for a copy of an identity document. If we have reasonable doubts about your identity, we may ask for additional information (Article 12(6) GDPR).

3. Removal request form

Fields marked with an asterisk are required. We use what you enter only to handle your request, to be able to show that we handled it, and to suppress the details concerned (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with Articles 12, 17 and 21 GDPR). No consent is needed for this. Details in the Privacy Policy, Section 5.

The request could not be sent. Please check the required fields or write directly to info@flfirms.com.

As it appears in the public record or in the data you received.

Optional; it helps us find the right record.

Address, phone numbers, email addresses, website or a person's name – one item per line.

Optional: a request for access or correction, the business that contacted you, or anything that helps us find your record.

4. What happens next and how long it takes

  1. We check which records your request concerns. [[ TO COMPLETE: state whether receipt is confirmed automatically by email ]]
  2. Where the processing serves direct marketing, we stop it for that purpose. In other cases we stop the processing unless we can show compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims (Article 21(1) GDPR); we would tell you such grounds and explain them.
  3. We delete the details concerned and put the identifiers needed to recognize them on a suppression list, so that they are not added again at a later update from the sources.
  4. We inform the customers to whom we already supplied the details, unless this proves impossible or involves disproportionate effort (Article 19 GDPR). [[ TO COMPLETE: confirm the procedure for notifying customers ]]
  5. We tell you the outcome without undue delay and at the latest within one month of receiving the request. For complex requests or a large number of requests the period may be extended by two further months; we would tell you within the first month and explain why (Article 12(3) GDPR).

Handling your request is free of charge (Article 12(5) GDPR). If you disagree with how we handled it, you may complain to a supervisory authority; the authority competent for the operator is the Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů (Office for Personal Data Protection), Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7, Czech Republic (uoou.gov.cz). See also the Privacy Policy, Section 11.
