Fifteen industries for your export

Each industry is defined by NAICS 2022 codes. The number on each card is the size of the industry in Florida per official statistics: businesses with paid employees per the U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2023 plus businesses without paid employees per Nonemployer Statistics 2024, or for local government the 2022 Census of Governments. The two Census series use different NAICS editions; the codes counted are in the pricing table below. It is not a count of records we hold; per-industry record counts are still being compiled.

Industry figures are official statistics, not records we hold: Florida businesses with paid employees (U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2023, establishments, NAICS 2017 codes) plus businesses without paid employees (Nonemployer Statistics 2024, NAICS 2022 codes), summed over the industry's codes; for local government, the 2022 Census of Governments. The two Census series cover different years. Industries can overlap, so the sizes must not be added up. Figures for each industry with codes and leading counties: Florida businesses by industry. How a quote is made and what it is based on: pricing. How a one-time export compares with subscription platforms and credit-based sellers: comparison of business data providers.

Process

From an industry to a finished file

Three steps. You commit to nothing in advance: first you see the scope after filters, the price and the as-of date of the data, then you decide.

Request an export

1. Choose industry and counties

Name one or more industries, the counties you need and the contact fields each record should contain.

2. Confirm scope and price

We state the number of records after filters, the available columns, the as-of date of the data and the price. Prices are quoted in USD.

3. Receive the file

You receive the export as CSV in UTF-8, on request as XLSX or JSON – one-time, with no subscription.

FAQ

Questions about lists of Florida businesses

In a sense, yes: the Florida Division of Corporations lets anyone search its records and “offers free data downloads for informational purposes” (Sunbiz, Data Downloads). Those files list registered entities with name, status, addresses, registered agent and officers. They carry no industry code, no phone number, no email address and no website, and an active status does not show whether an entity has any operations.

The Florida Business Database adds what the state’s files lack: an industry by NAICS code, the county, and public contact fields (phone, email, website) from company websites.

Choose an industry below and name the counties in your request; the county is derived from the principal address. To see how many employer establishments a county has, see the official Census table Florida businesses by county.

You can ask for several industries or for all 15. This product is not a complete dump of every registered entity: the state already provides its corporate data files at no charge. An export is a selection by industry, county and contact field.

The filing date is one of the 15 columns in an export, so a selection by filing date is supported. How current such a selection is depends on the as-of date of the dataset, which is confirmed before you order. See also How to find new business filings in Florida.

Our Florida database contains 3,818,676 active entities as of October 15, 2026. Per-industry counts are still being compiled; contact us for the current count for a specific industry. The current status and coverage details are on the page Data status.
