That is the plan: 441 for dealers and parts retailers, 8111 for repair and maintenance, each with its subgroups.
Florida industry export
The export covers motor vehicle dealers, parts stores and repair shops registered in Florida, defined by NAICS 2022 (441, 8111). For scale: 94,249 businesses in Florida per the U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2023 + Nonemployer Statistics 2024: 20,272 with employees in 2023 and 73,977 without employees in 2024; that is official statistics. Our Florida database is active, but per-industry record counts are still being compiled. Say whether you need dealers, parts stores or repair and body shops, and whether boat, motorcycle and RV dealers should be included.

Data as of October 15, 2026. Industry size: U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2023 + Nonemployer Statistics 2024: businesses with paid employees (CBP 2023, establishments, NAICS 2017 codes 441, 8111) plus businesses without paid employees (NES 2024, NAICS 2022 codes 441, 8111); not our dataset. Statewide figure for all industries: Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations, Yearly Statistics, as of July 8, 2026; not our dataset. NAICS titles: 441 Motor Vehicle and Parts Dealers; 8111 Automotive Repair and Maintenance (U.S. Census Bureau).
The industry combines NAICS subsector 441, Motor Vehicle and Parts Dealers (new and used car dealers, recreational vehicle, motorcycle and boat dealers, automotive parts, accessories and tire retailers), with NAICS industry group 8111, Automotive Repair and Maintenance (general and specialized repair, body, paint and glass shops, oil change shops and car washes).
For a business list, the registered name is a common stumbling block: a dealership or shop may do business under a brand or a fictitious name, while the corporate record shows the legal entity behind it. Florida requires a fictitious name to be registered with the Division of Corporations before business is done under it (Fla. Stat. § 865.09), which is a planned source for linking the two.
Subsector 441 also contains boat, motorcycle and RV dealers. Say in your request whether you want them or passenger car businesses only.
Our expectation, which is an assumption and not a finding from data: We expect a published phone number to be the most common contact field for dealers and repair shops. Where an independent shop has no website of its own, the website and email fields stay empty. Per-industry contact counts are still being compiled; once measured, they will replace this note.
We are looking for independent repair shops, body shops and tire dealers in Volusia, Flagler and St. Johns counties with a phone number, to present our parts delivery program. Franchised new car dealers should not be included. Please state what you can deliver, the price and the as-of date of the data.
This is an example only, not a promise of a record count.
Official statistics
County Business Patterns counts locations with paid employees, so a dealer group with several locations is counted once per location. A one-person mobile mechanic without employees appears in the second series, Nonemployer Statistics. That series reclassifies new car dealers without employees as used car dealers (NES methodology).
Miami-Dade (22,084), Broward (11,227), Orange (6,934), Hillsborough (6,202), Palm Beach (6,126). Figures for all 67 counties are in the table Florida businesses by county.
Sources: U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2023; U.S. Census Bureau, Nonemployer Statistics 2024 (methodology). Each row adds establishments with paid employees (County Business Patterns 2023, NAICS 2017) and businesses without paid employees (Nonemployer Statistics 2024, NAICS 2022, which leaves out businesses with less than $1,000 in receipts except in construction). These are Census Bureau statistics, not counts from our dataset.
Dealers are licensed under Fla. Stat. § 320.27, where the department is the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. The statute presumes that anyone who buys, sells or deals in three or more motor vehicles in any 12-month period is engaged in the business of a dealer. Mobile home dealers are licensed under a separate section (Fla. Stat. § 320.77).
Each motor vehicle repair shop must register with the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services prior to doing business in Florida (Fla. Stat. § 559.904). The application states the name of the applicant, the name under which the applicant is doing business, the business address where repair work is performed and the number of employees who perform repairs.
Both are tied to a place of business rather than to the legal entity alone, so one company can appear several times. Matching those records to a single corporate record is part of the planned work on this industry.
The fictitious name records of the Division of Corporations connect the name on the sign with the corporation or LLC that owns the shop. The planned export is built on the legal entity; where no link between the fictitious name and the entity is found, a shop known only by the name on its sign will be missing.

FAQ
That is the plan: 441 for dealers and parts retailers, 8111 for repair and maintenance, each with its subgroups.
By classification, yes: NAICS 441 includes other motor vehicle dealers. They can be included or excluded on request.
Largely, yes, by NAICS code: repair shops are 8111, and new car dealers are 441110. A dealer’s service department is part of the dealership and carries no code of its own, so it does not appear as a repair shop.
Yes. Both are classified under other automotive repair and maintenance (NAICS 81119) and are within this industry.
No. Motor vehicle towing is NAICS 488410, part of support activities for transportation; see Transportation and Logistics.
The size of the industry in Florida is 94,249 businesses in Florida per the U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2023 + Nonemployer Statistics 2024: 20,272 with employees in 2023 and 73,977 without employees in 2024 (source); that is the official market scale, not a count of our delivered records. Our per-industry record count is still being compiled; contact us for the current count for Automotive and Auto Repair. For orientation: Active business entities registered with the Florida Division of Corporations (corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships and trusts) – 4,129,182 as of July 8, 2026 (Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations, Yearly Statistics). That figure covers all industries and counts registered entities whether or not they operate. The Census figures on this page give a sense of scale for Automotive and Auto Repair.
Federal law does not require prior consent for commercial email to businesses, but every message must comply with the CAN-SPAM Act (FTC compliance guide); sales calls and texts are restricted more tightly by federal rules and by Fla. Stat. § 501.059. An export contains no consent. Our data is not screened against any do-not-call list, including the National Do Not Call Registry and the Florida Do Not Call list. How Fla. Stat. § 501.059(4) applies to business records that include phone numbers is a question for an attorney, and no Florida dataset with phone numbers will be released until that question is resolved. The compliance of a campaign is your responsibility. The rules are explained in Cold outreach rules in Florida; this is not legal advice.
From public sources: corporate filings of the Florida Division of Corporations (Sunbiz), the license and registration records named on this page and the companies' own websites (sources and methodology). The file is a UTF-8 CSV or, on request, XLSX or JSON; a sample with fictitious businesses shows the 15 columns.
